I've always been fearless when it comes to embellishing my eyes. I'm constantly in a search for the next best thing. The thing that will elevate my look. No matter if you are high maintenance or low key, most of us feel better and look more awake with a stroke of mascara. Am I right, or am I right? Which is why I'm so obsessed with anything eye related.
Over the years, I've tried countless of products and gadget to achieve my perfect eye-look; fiber mascara by Too Faced, Latisse, heated eyelash curler, lash vitamins, lash extensions, ink liner, gel liner, kajal liner.... I mean, I'm surprised I still have any lashes and/or skin left around my eyes! Most of them worked (Latisse did wonders!) but like everything else, I either ran out of funds, time or patience to keep using them.
There's nothing I like more then a sexy sultry eye makeup that consists of a black winged eye liner and full lashes. I mean, Sophia Lauren and Scarlet Johansson (in her D&G beauty ads)? Hawt! For the past years, I've spent way too much time in the morning trying to get that eyeliner just right (yes, I've also tried using tape to guide my wing, thanks Youtube!). Such a waste of time... That old saying "Don't ever ask a woman with winged eyeliner why she's late"... Well it's true, I was always late.
Anyways, fast forward to last week when I walked into my neighborhood drugstore and noticed this purple eyeliner brush. From afar, it looked like a normal brush until I read "silicone". I looked closely and yup, the tip was not made of bristles but of silicone. The beauty advisor rushed to me praising this tool and saying how they can never order enough of them. To be honest, I had my doubts looking at her own makeup... but I still gave it a shot. I mean, at 9$, it was a pretty safe bet.
My verdict? O-M-G, I looooove it. Here's why:
- It is cruelty-free
- Easy to clean, simply rinse it with warm water (no accumulation of yucky bacterias)
- Creates a highly defined line with just one stroke
- By bending it, you can create a thicker, bolder line (hello 60's!)
I give this new eye gadget 2 thumbs up! Beware girlfriends around me, you may end up with one in your stockings this holiday season. We no longer have a reason to be late ever again because of our winged eyeliner!
