Birchbox: January is for Ambition
The first month of the New Year is not only the perfect time to set some goals for the months ahead (I’m big on goals, as opposed to resolutions), but also a great time to try new things. This month I’ve had the opportunity to try out Birchbox, which is my first ever monthly subscription box. For the January box, Birchbox went with the theme of the year ahead by including some adorable little stickers to put on the lid. I chose “Ambition” as I have several career development goals I’m looking to accomplish for 2016. And what a great way to start off 2016 with some fab new products to try out!
The winter months are especially harsh on my skin and my hair, between the increased heating at home, wicked cold outdoors, and good hair day destroying toques (Canadian for beanie). I’m loving the combo of using the Fave4 Texture Takeover Spray and the nourishing Gorge leave in conditioner, to give my hair a little oomph and shine.
The January box also came with a creamy Juara body cream, Paula’s Choice serum, and an adorable little Tony Moly tint. I’m always curious about Korean beauty brands, and so far I’m not disappointed! The red lip stain is super pigmented, but isn’t drying at all.
Overall, I like the concept of the Birchbox subscription, which allows you to try a couple new products each month. The best part is that the sizes are perfect. Big enough to test it out long enough to know if you like it, but small enough that you can realistically use all of your samples up each month!
