Priska & Co.
Ok, so I'm the worst when it comes to hair. Like, the worst. As much as I love skincare, makeup and getting my lashes done, when it comes to my hair.............. I'm pathetic.
What do I mean by that? Well, first of, there's nothing I hate more than to wash my own hair and blow dry them. I of course do it (duh!) every second day or so but it takes all of my will-power and energy to do this simple task. Since I have frizzy curly-ish hair, other than using a straightener, I have no clue how to style them. Which also explains why I always end up with a ponytail; pure laziness.
I secretly dream of having Kim Kardashian or Selena Gomez hair but I doubt I'll ever achieve that level of "babe hair". (Say whatever you want about Kim K, she does have amazing hair!) I've watched Youtube how-to videos countless times, bought all the tools in world and still... Zit. Nada. Can't do it. Lastly, I so don't care about my hair, that I visit a hair salon mayyyybe once a year. Maybe.
Since my good friend Priska relaunched her hair salon recently, I figured, why not go visit her and support! With a full space & website makeover and a retail concept at the front, it was the perfect time to go see her. (Plus, after 6 years of not coloring my hair and a year without a trim, it was time.) Arrivederci flat lifeless black hair!
Priska & Co. is the definition of a neighborhood gem; it's hidden inside one of the coolest and creative buildings in Montreal, the decor is clean, modern & sophisticate, the team makes you feel like you've been BFFs forever, they offer delicious lattes, white wine & cupcakes, and most importantly, you always come out of there with your hair on fleek!
The salon uses exclusively Kevin Murphy products which are made without ammonia, sulphate, paraben and are cruelty free. The line is enriched with natural ingredients such as honey, aloe vera, baobab, mango and shea butter.
I'm not sure if Priska had pitty for my hair or if I simply needed it, but she spoiled me with Murphy's TREAT.ME hydrating hair treatment. Infused with mongongo oil, she gently massaged the intensive conditioner in my hair. Not sure if if was the divine smell, the scalp massage, the warm towel over my head or the wine, but I tried real hard not to fall asleep!
Ok, so I still don't really know how to style my hair and I don't look like Selena, but at the very least, I now have a fresh new color for spring, got easy to manage layered bangs and gave my locks a little CPR! If not for the head massage alone, I actually can't wait to sit in Priska's chair again and just be pampered for an hour or so! And no, not a year from now.
